Who We Are

Living Word Church is a loving community of believers in Kannapolis, North Carolina. We’re here to help people grow in faith, find hope in Jesus, and experience the power of God’s Word in everyday life.

Our mission comes from Psalm 118:8 —

“It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.”

We believe that trusting in the Lord changes everything. At Living Word Church, you’ll find a place to belong, worship, and grow together with people who love God and each other.

OUr History

After being ordained to be a minister of the gospel of Christ, Buddy Boone was lead by God to find a church that closely fit his understanding of Gods laws and principles. On July 11th 1992, Living Word Church was founded under the Pilgrim Free Will Baptist Association. Our church's first service was held on July 19th, in a small building on West 8th St. in Kannapolis, North Carolina. It was graciously donated for the first few services. 

With hard work and dedication for the glory of God, a new building was underway by a host of volunteers. Some worked, some cooked and fed, and some prayed. The first service in the new building was on August the 2nd 1992. This is the first Sunday in August which is now our official homecoming. God has blessed our little church with so much. The Lord has supplied our every little need for over 33 years.

The Reverend Buddy Boone, was pastor of Living Word Church from our first service until the Lord called him home on October the 3rd 2004. There has been so many people pass through our doors over the years and dedicated their lives to the Lord. It is my prayer that we continue to be a light in our community for years to come. 

Our church motto was given to Buddy by God, shortly after Living Word Church opened its doors. It has resonated with so many people over the years.
